Follow me, follow me, follow me down
Be brave, follow
Keep on walking
Follow me, follow me, follow me down
Stay close, do not wander
Keep walking, keep your wits
Be brave, follow
Follow me, follow me, deeper, follow
Stay close, for the trees
do not know you yet, mortal
Stay close, for the trees
get hungry and bored
Stay close enough that your breath
warms my neck
Stay close, for the trees
do not know you yet
Follow me, follow me, follow me down
All your eyes open
All seven senses
Awake and follow, follow me down
Slow decent into green world
The forest is waiting
The trees get hungry
Follow me, follow me, follow me down
Deep down where not even
the sun dares to travel
Deep down, can you feel Her?
You believe She is mad
Stay close and keep walking
With all seven senses
Stay close for the trees
get hungry and bored
Follow me, follow me, follow me down
Nearly there now
Skin starts to prickle
Stay close, and follow me, follow me down
Deep down where never
A breeze dares to travel
Listen! Listen!
She’s singing us to Her
Stay firm in your purpose
Don’t let yourself falter
Stay firm in your person
You know who you are
Deep down in your heart
You know why you came here
Deep down where not even
The sun dares to shine
Follow me, follow me, follow me in
Quiet the trees here
She’s known we’re coming
Deep down, now follow me, follow me in
Stay firm, reveal yourself
Hold back nothing
Be open as flowers
Lay fallow your soul
Be open as flowers
or a wide road curving
Be open as oceans
Transparent as Light
Let her incandescence
find what it’s seeking
Be open as flowers
Why else did you follow?
Stand, stand and deliver
You have questions
She has answers
Stand and deliver or find your own way home
Her blind eyes open
Revealing the fires
(That’s where the smoke comes from
from within her blind eyes)
Ask what you will
She will answer
Ask what you must
She will inform
Ask or know never
The moment is fading
Ask now, deliver
Or find your way home
Follow me, follow me, follow me back
Your time here is over
Mustn’t be greedy
Follow me, follow me, follow me back
Stay close, do not wander, my young mortal friend
The danger’s not over
Be open as flowers
The trees are hungrier now than before
Higher and higher
Treacherous, rising
Don’t let your thoughts wander
beyond the path
Hold on to your purpose
Why else did you follow?
Stay close, the trees
are hungrier yet
Stay close, for the hero must still return home
Don’t falter now
You must carry the fire
Stay close, hero, we’re well on our way
Follow me, follow me, follow me back
We’re nearly there now
The danger is fading
Stay close and follow me, follow me back
The sunlight is daring
The danger is fading
Be open as flowers
You’re back in the Light
I wrote this poem sometime in late 2014, as a guided meditation for a web radio show called The Blackthorn Path, and we recited it to the accompaniment of viola and rainstick, with overlapping lines, whispers and exhortations. I came across it recently, and it seemed rather . . . timely. Let the Divine Feminine rise! If you haven’t already, GO VOTE!
